Cosmo Terrigno - Founder

Looking for an off the beaten path to have dinner? You won’t be disappointed should you venture into Terrigno’s Fairfield Inn, at 153 Bridgeton Fairton Rd, Bridgeton, NJ.

Meet The Chef –

Mike Terrigno who serves up some great meals in the warm and inviting Dining Room; they also offer a more casual dining experience with a full Pub menu and area. Enjoy some great cocktails, wine and spirits served up by Barry a well-seasoned and longtime bartender at the Inn.

This is a private family owned restaurant that also offers catering along with banquet and party services in their lower level hall.

Background –

Michael Terrigno is the third generation to follow and now leads the establishment. His mother Linda and late father Cosmo began their first venture back in 1975; that’s where Mike gained his first experience while working in the former family owned Terrigno’s Deli. I remember this place and they served up one of the best cheesesteaks around! In 1986, Cosmo ventured to Seabrook where he opened Cosi’s Place which is now Franco’s. When his dad opened Terrigno’s Fairfield Inn, Mike decided to hone his skills and educated himself in the Academy of Culinary Arts where he completed his studies while earning a bronze medal.

The Menu –

So what can you expect? For starters, if you’re looking for a casual dining experience you can sit at the bar or a table and choose from a very diverse Pub menu. Try their great and meat filled cheesesteaks and steak fries; personally I just love a great pizza steak and they never disappoint me! They have several subs to choose from like Chicken Parma, Veal Italiano and Roast Beef to name a few. Soups and salads are always available and you should try the Wing Ding Platter.

There’s also one thing you need to know… you can also order from the Dining Room menu! Which includes appetizers, soups, salads and specialty dinners like Slow Roasted Prime Rib, Steak Pizzioli, Veal and Chicken dinners as well as Pasta and Seafood dinners. You can enjoy these meals in the Dining room but here’s the catch, you can’t order from the Pub Menu while in the Dining room. That was never a big deal for us because it made eating in the Dining Room a more special experience. You can also try one of the many dessert options available.

I remember many meals here with Cosmo coming around and greeting us personally; he did this with every guest that came in and made us and everyone who walked in feel like we were “somebody”! Unfortunately the family and our community suffered the loss of Cosmo in June of this year. Needless to say we were all in shock because he was quite the character and so full of life and energy.

I’m proud to say Cosmo was an Army Veteran and served our country during the Vietnam Conflict. Although things will never be the same, his son Mike has taken on the lead role within the restaurant and no doubt will continue the legacy his father left in his and his family’s care. Mike has picked up where Cosmo left off and is a standup guy and man of the community; no doubt he will greet everyone with the same warmth and sincerity as his father did and continue the legacy that is Michael Angelo’s Restaurant at Terrigno’s Fairfield Inn.

As a family we’ve enjoyed many meals here and would certainly recommend it to anyone.
