Olive Garden is Piling On the Love for Vineland – Announces soft opening for February 18, 2019!
Updated: Oct 19, 2019
Vineland – The new Olive Garden in Vineland is now officially open! Well at least a soft opening and it couldn’t happen any sooner for some. It’s been a long time coming and many folks including some of my family have been wishing for one for a long, long, long time.
Here are some little known facts about this Italian American cuisine restaurant:
· The first Olive Garden opened in December of 1982 in Orlando
· There are over 890 restaurants worldwide
· It was started as a part of General Mills Inc.
· In 1989, it became the fastest growing interest in the General Mills restaurant division
· Olive Garden ultimately became the largest Italian themed chain in the United States
The Olive Garden was later spun off into the Darden Restaurants; this name came from the Red Lobster founder Bill Darden and became a company in 1995. Although Red Lobster was sold off in 2014, the Olive Garden is still a part of Darden Holdings which include, Longhorn Steakhouse, The Capital Grille and Bahama Breeze to name a few.
General Mills still remains the parent company and Olive Garden accounts for $3.8 billion of the $6.9 billion revenue of Darden Restaurants; that’s a lot of breadsticks!

So what can we expect from the new location on Delsea Drive? Well for one we can expect the great taste of Italian American fare with their endless garlic breadsticks choice of homemade soups and house salad for around $11. The menu offers a lot to choose from and as you would expect they have all of your favorites.
They feature the Lasagna Dip and Loaded Pasta chips as a NEW appetizer choice. Of course there is still the Create Your Pasta Bowl, and the classic favorites which include A Tour of Italy, Ravioli Di Portobello, Lasagna Classico and Chicken Parmigiano to name a few. They also feature Tastes of the Mediterranean which include salmon, chicken and shrimp entrees. Chicken, seafood and beef entrees will have you wanting to come back and try something different. For those of you with little ones, you’re going love the children’s menu and the price is right!
Lunch Duos are available and Early Dinner Duos will start serving from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Their website menu offers a Family Style TOGO Bundles but not sure if that’s going to be an option for us; honestly I don’t see why it wouldn’t because let’s face it, we sometimes just want to get in our comfy clothes and eat at home with the family.
Online ordering is available and a nice incentive for joining their “eClub” is being offered. They also have the new “Olive Garden App”. It looks like catering will be an option as well.
We’ll probably wait a few weeks before going to let them work out the kinks but it will sure be nice to have another option to choose from.
